Rosemary Essential Oil Bathala Scents
Botanical Name: Rosmarinus officinalis
A top note, Rosemary has a strong, fresh, penetrating, and stimulating herbaceous aroma. An evergreen shrub with elegant branches, Rosemary's stem is ash-colored and scaly with leathery, thick leaves that are lustrous and dark green with white underneath. Its tiny pale blue blossoms abound from December through spring, and it can grow to heights of close to two meters in height. Its name originates from the Latin ros marinus ("Dew of the Sea"), as Rosemary naturally thrives near the Mediterranean Sea. Hungarian rosemary is a frost-resistant species of the plant that can be widely cultivated in cooler climates. As a result of its unique properties and location of cultivation, Hungarian rosemary oil has slightly different concentrations of major components of Rosemary Oil such as camphor and alpha-pinene. Rosemary is rumored to be a key ingredient in the recipe for 'Queen of Hungary Water' or simply 'Hungary Water' which is said to be the first instance of an alcohol-based perfume in written history. Nowadays, Rosemary Oil is used extensively in aromatherapy and is a popular ingredient in the cosmetics industry. Rosemary Oil can be found featured in many perfumes, candles, soaps, shampoos, and more.
